Christina Gerdes, MD
A double board-certified adult psychiatrist and addiction medicine physician executive with over 14 years of experience in behavioral health care, clinical leadership, clinical operations, and healthcare strategy.
Dr. Gerdes currently serves as Behavioral Health Medical Director at Vantage Medical Associates and maintains a private psychiatric practice in New York. She is a Council Member of the New York State Behavioral Health Services Advisory Council (BHSAC) and the New York State Public Health and Health Planning Council (PHHPC) — two state advisory bodies shaping behavioral health policy and public health across New York.
Previously, she co-founded and served as Chief Medical Officer at Willow Health, where she built and led the clinical care model, achieved Joint Commission Accreditation, and developed a multidisciplinary team from the ground up. She has held senior clinical and administrative leadership roles across health systems, health plans, and digital health companies — including Northwell Health, Cityblock Health, and Fidelis Care–Centene — with deep expertise in value-based care, collaborative care models, population health, and behavioral health program development.
She is passionate about advancing behavioral health equity, building high-performing clinical teams, and modernizing the delivery of psychiatric and substance use care at scale.
